Thai Union sets up new company in Indonesia
(THAILAND, 8/6/2018)
Thai Union Group Public Company Limited notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand that is has entered into the connected transaction and set up a new company in Indonesia.
The group informed the acquisition of 51 per cent shares of aquatic animal feed manufacturer and distributor Thailand-headquartered TMAC Co., Ltd. (TMAC) from its subsidiary Thai Union Feedmill Co., Ltd. (TFM). The remaining 49 per cent of TMAC belongs to the Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Corporation.
After this investment, TMAC will be a joint venture of Thai Union Group PCL.
In addition, Thai Union informed the Exchange on the investment of Thai Union Feedmill Co. to buy the 65.0 per cent of PT Thai Union Kharisma Lestari (PTUKL), a shrimp and fish feed producer and distributor located in Indonesia, an operation that will make it possible for it to increase aquaculture feed sales in this county.
Board committee remarks that the acquisition of 51.0 per cent shares of TMAC as well as the acquisition of 65.0 per cent of PTUKL shares, will give benefits to the company which can increase revenue and profits to the group's companies.
