Ministry promotes seafood product exports at Seafood Global Expo

The Fisheries Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Andres Hermida, will participate in the Seafood Expo Global, held in Brussels from April 26 to 28, which is the fair the Department has resorted to for the twenty first time to promote Spanish fishery product exports.
The Ministry will have a 224 m2 pavilion that will be located in Hall 7. It will be visited by the National Association of Manufacturers of Canned Fish and Shellfish (ANFACO-CECOPESCA), the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Manufacturers and Exporters of Fisheries and Aquaculture Products (CONXEMAR), the Business Association of Marine Aquaculture Producers of Spain (APROMAR), the Fish Farmers Producers Organisation (OPP 22) and the National Association of Wholesalers of Fish of Mercas (ANMAPE).
These associations will come accompanied by several companies in various subsectors of the fresh, frozen, canned fishery product marketing, and marine and inland aquaculture.
Autonomous communities of the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Galicia, Basque Country and Asturias will participate in the Hall 7 of the fairground.
In the institutional area of the stand of the Ministry, the various information activities related to fisheries and aquaculture, and internationalization of fishery products are to be displayed with the message "Spain leads in fishing and aquaculture."
Information about the digital Catalog of Spanish fishery product exporters, aiming to establish greater disclosure of their business offers. It will include references of the industry, products, companies and contact data.
The Ministry also organizes an agenda of business meetings, open to all participating Spanish companies, with lists of potential business partners tailored to the needs each of them have, with a selection of those contacts offering greater interest: importers, agents or distributors. In addition, the agenda includes the organization of individualized interviews with importers from other countries, reports on the product or service in the target market and practical information about the country of origin.
The Secretary General of Fisheries will maintain institutional meetings with delegations from other countries in order to promote export growth of Spanish fishing products.
Spain's presence at the fair is performed with funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and funded by the European Union through the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).
Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global is the largest seafood trade event in the world, celebrating the twenty-fourth edition. More than 26,000 buyers, suppliers, media and other maritime professionals from over 140 countries will visit the exhibition.
