Large UK Seafood Industry Delegation to 10th NASF in Bergen

UK Seafood firms are coming to North Atlantic Seafood Forum 2015 (NASF) in a big way. More than 25 UK seafood companies will participate in the NASF conference March 3-6; as part of a NASF UK and Seafish Initiative.

The UK Seafood Industry Delegation coming to NASF represents enterprises with total annual turnover around GBP 6.3 billion (USD 9.7 billion) that includes GBP 2.75 billion (USD 4.25 billion) of imported seafood raw materials. Most of the firms represent fish processing industry, while some come from seafood import, processing equipment and services. The UK seafood processing industry consists of 317 companies operating across 333 sites. They provide 14,305 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs and employ a total of 15,310 people.

NASF is the world’s largest seafood business conference, and a leading executive meeting place for the seafood industry.

All the 5 major Scottish aquaculture companies will be attending, representing an industry that produces +150,000 tons per year and supports as many as 8,000 Scottish jobs and contributes a turnover up to GBP 1.4 billion (USD 2.15 billion) for Scotland.

NASF is a broad annual industry event covering all major facets of the seafood sectors.

UK NASF Representative Simon Dwyer says: “The UK seafood industry has been a major supporter of the NASF conference since the beginning.
