Russia increases the catch rate

The rate of catch of fish and shellfish is ahead of last year: 1.26 million tons were produced - 4% more
According to the industry monitoring system of the Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo), the volume of fish and seafood production exceeded 1.26 million tons, which is 4% more than in 2023.

The growth of the all-Russian catch is mainly ensured by fishermen of the Far East - the volume of production in this basin exceeded 1 million tons (+8.4% by 2023). Good performance in the fishery for pollock (+7%), flounder (+5%), and herring (+38%).

Fisheries in the Northern Basin continue to increase their catch dynamics: production volume increased by 13% – to 121.7 thousand tons.
Indicators for capelin fishing (+88.5%), crabs (+64%), and flounder (2.8 times) increased.
In the Azov-Black Sea basin, the growth of fishing indicators also continues: more than 9.6 thousand tons were produced - 6.4% higher.
In particular, the catch of anchovy increased by 8%, and sprat by 11 times.
Rosrybolovstvo regularly monitors the volume of production and supply of fish products to domestic and foreign markets in order to prioritize providing the country's population with fish products in the required volume.
