Handy International Dip-Bite Food Concept Aligns with 2013 Food Trends

  (UNITED STATES, 3/6/2013)

Handy has launched three varieties of its shrimp and crab dip-bites, part of the Gastropub Collection of social seafood. The dip-bites are a combination of shrimp and fresh crab meat, along with other high-quality ingredients that make a delicious creamy dip and then it is stuffed inside a crispy crunchy coating. Diners get the creaminess of a dip in a convenient handheld delicious bite--the dip is in the bite!

Handy’s cheesy Buffalo Shrimp & Crab Dip-Bites offer a new twist on a Buffalo-flavoured classic and contain shrimp, sweet fresh crab meat, zesty hot sauce, cheddar cheese and Sriracha.

 Handy’s Wasabi Shrimp & Crab Dip-Bites

Handy’s cheesy Baja Shrimp & Crab Dip-Bites are inspired by the Mexicali flavours of Baja, and contain shrimp, sweet fresh crab meat, cream cheese, corn, peppers, cheddar cheese and fresh lime.

Handy’s Wasabi Shrimp & Crab Dip-Bites really pack a punch and contain shrimp, sweet fresh crab meat, fresh ginger, garlic, Sriracha, wasabi and mozzarella and cream cheese.

Sweet white meat from the largest crabs

The dip-bites are easy to prepare and serve, cooking in just 3 minutes (freezer to fryer).

Plate them alone or with extra dipping sauce; there is no prep or waste in the kitchen.

Handy’s Executive Chef Nikki Trzeciak stated, “With dips being in the top 3 fastest growing menu items, we wanted to capture their popularity but offer a unique and easy way to enjoy them as a finger food. The flavors are so very distinctively different that your guests will have fun sharing all three.”

With a burst of flavour in every bite and paired with wine, beer or cocktails, restaurants will increase check averages, while keeping diners coming back for more.

About Handy International

Handy International is a family-owned company and is America’s oldest seafood processor.

Handy has consistently maintained the highest quality standards in the seafood industry for over 100 years. Handy opened a plant in Crisfield on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay in 1903 and began specializing in the processing of the area’s best-known delicacy: soft shell crabs.

Handy's products include soft crabs, crab meat, crab cakes, crab specialty items, oysters and artisanal fish

Though the Handy plant has a new location and has expanded over the years, it is still located in Crisfield, Maryland and we continue to be a family-owned company with a focus on quality and transparency.
