Nomad Foods Reports Q3 Declines Amid Headwinds, Forecasts Low-End 2025 Results

  (UNITED KINGDOM, 11/17/2025)

Frozen Food Giant Cites UK Weakness and Weather Impact, but Sees Stabilization and Focus on 2026 Turnaround

WOKING, EnglandNomad Foods Limited ($\text{NYSE: NOMD}$), Europe's largest frozen food company and owner of iconic brands like Birds Eyeiglo, and Findus, reported a mixed third quarter on November 6, 2025. While the company's results were in line with management expectations, they showed key financial metrics declining compared to the same period in 2024, leading the firm to forecast its full-year performance will land near the low end of its existing guidance ranges.

The company's stock experienced a surge in pre-market trading, up by over 5.7% to $11.85, primarily due to an Adjusted Earnings Per Share (EPS) of €0.49 which surpassed the analyst consensus forecast of €0.47, despite a slight revenue miss.

Key Financial Performance (Q3 2025 vs. Q3 2024)

Nomad Foods, which operates across 22 European markets, faced supply chain inflation and weather-related challenges that impacted consumer demand in July. Key figures for the three months ended September 30, 2025, include:

  • Revenue decreased 2.2% to €752 million.

  • Organic Revenue declined 1.6%, driven by a volume decline of 0.5%.

  • Adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) decreased 14.2% to €143 million.

  • Adjusted Gross Margin contracted 420 basis points to 28.1%.

  • Adjusted EPS decreased 10.9% to €0.49.

For the first nine months of 2025, revenue decreased 2.0% to €2.259 billion, and Adjusted EBITDA decreased 8.4% to €392 million.

Management’s Outlook and Strategic Moves

Stéfan Descheemaeker, Nomad Foods’ Chief Executive Officer, noted that the UK market's soft performance and the transitory weather-related pressure in July were the main headwinds, but he expressed optimism that growth returned to "healthy levels" by the end of the quarter. The company is seeing stabilization in its UK retail sell-through growth.

Co-Chairman and Founder, Noam Gottesman, highlighted the "underlying fundamentals" remain strong. He cited accelerated innovation in Growth Platforms—which saw a significant 34% sales increase in Q3 2025—and a multi-year efficiency program announced in September targeting €200 million in savings.

Looking forward, the company's full-year guidance has been narrowed to the low end:

  • Full-Year Organic Revenue: Expected to be near the low end of the flat to -2% range.

  • Full-Year Adjusted EBITDA: Expected to be near the low end of the -3% to -7% year-on-year range.

  • Full-Year Adjusted EPS: Expected to be near the low end of its €1.64 to €1.76 range, or $1.89 to $2.02 based on the September 30, 2025, exchange rate.

A significant point of focus is the leadership transition. Mr. Descheemaeker is set to be succeeded by Dominic Brisby as the new CEO starting January 1, 2026Mr. Gottesman expressed confidence in Mr. Brisby's ability to "revitalize our growth engine" and deliver improved results, particularly with price increases communicated for 2026.
