Larsen Seafood Focuses on Sustainability
(DENMARK, 11/10/2010)
As sustainability gets more and more important for consumers, Larsen Danish Seafood offers different solutions to fulfil this demand.
Today one third of the food bought by consumers is thrown away; therefore food waste is becoming a major sustainability issue. Larsen´s single portion concept keeps food fresh and reduces food waste - this packaging has been awarded by DuPont.

develop his business. The development went from fishery to export and in the 1960s to include production of processed fish. Today, Larsen Danish Seafood employs over 250 employees in the three factories in Denmark, Germany and Iceland.
Larsen Seafood processes fish not only from Nordic waters, such as mackerel, herring and salmon but also exotic species like tuna, tilapia and sea bass – exporting to most European countries and more than 40 countries around the globe.
The value chain, from being involved in catching the fish, with great understanding and focus on quality and the process, into processing, is still today one of Larsen’s most valued competences and one the company still takes great pride in.
