Einhamar Seafood is a family-run fishing and fish processing company based in Grindavík, Iceland. The company is built on a solid foundation with fishing knowledge and methods passed through the Icelandic generations. Armed with ambition, Einhamar Seafood is constantly evolving its operation to achieve the best quality for customers. 

With rapid growth in recent years, Einhamar Seafood is now among the biggest fresh fish producers in Iceland.

Europe and North America are the company’s largest markets, particularly the UK, where the company has established a strong reputation for quality and reliability. The company's products are flown from Iceland to their destination and great care is taken to keep the products cold and fresh at all times. All of Einhamar Seafood's fish processing takes place at the headquarters which are ideally located in Grindavík near the Keflavík international airport.

The Icelandic fish is highly respected in international markets because of its freshness and expert handling. Einhamar Seafood produces quality seafood, with  no added products, only natural fish. 

Working with its own fishing vessels and in co-operation with other selected vessels, Einhamar Seafood is able to guarantee the very best quality fish available to the high-end markets around the world.

In the spring 2013 the Icelandic government made changes to the fisheries management in Iceland affecting the small boats system, making it legal to use bigger boats, or 30 ton boats compared to the before allowed boats, 15 tons.

To maximize capable processing alongside these changes Einhamar Seafood purchased 2 new and bigger boats to replace Auður Vésteins and Gísli Súrsson. In august 2014 Einhamar Seafood welcomed their new additions. These boats have a combined capacity for 46.000 hooks and cargo tanks that hold up to 30 tons, making each of them hold 45 tubs, or 14 tons.

The main advantage of the bigger boats is better handling, and consequently much better quality. The new boats use smaller tubs making the weight in each box less, resulting in reduced pressure on the fresh fish. The fish goes straight into these tubs after the bleeding and is loaded straight to processing, meaning no tubs are capsized, and therefore decreasing unnecessary damage.

The company has its own vessels and employs around 70 people combined on land and at sea.

With these new additions, Einhamar Seafood's boats are now equipped with a slurry ice machine, a pre cooler system and a Rotex bleeding tank.
