JBT Marel Unveils 2024 Sustainability Report, Highlights Global Strategy for a Resilient Food System

  (UNITED STATES, 9/21/2025)

JBT Marel Corporation, a leading provider of technology solutions for the food and beverage industry, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, titled "Shaping the Future of Food Together."

CHICAGO, IL – The report outlines the company’s comprehensive strategy to address global challenges such as hunger, climate change, and resource scarcity while driving operational efficiency and social impact across its diverse operations.

The report’s release follows the recent merger of JBT Corporation and Marel, which expanded the company's global footprint and technological capabilities. JBT Marel is now uniquely positioned to influence the food ecosystem, serving key markets including proteins, beverages, and fruits and vegetables with a combined portfolio of advanced machinery and digital services.

Five Pillars Guide a Purpose-Driven Approach

The report details JBT Marel’s sustainability efforts through five core pillars, reflecting its commitment to transforming the future of food:

  • Customers: The company is focused on delivering innovative and complementary technologies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability for its global client base. By integrating advanced digital solutions, JBT Marel helps customers optimize their operations and reduce environmental impact.

  • People and Communities: JBT Marel is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. In 2024, the company began developing a new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) governance structure with executive oversight to embed these values throughout its global workforce of 3,500 employees across 50 countries.

  • Operations: The company is committed to operational excellence and minimizing its environmental footprint. JBT Marel is standardizing best practices and evaluating opportunities to set new environmental targets across its facilities to optimize resource use and strengthen business resilience.

  • Supply Partners: Recognizing the importance of a responsible global supply chain, JBT Marel recently issued a new Supplier Code of Conduct. The company is actively engaging with its worldwide network of suppliers to ensure ethical behavior and to better understand and mitigate their environmental impact.

  • Governance: JBT Marel is prioritizing integrity and transparency. It is in the process of combining its legacy double materiality assessments to map critical sustainability issues, ensuring its long-term strategy aligns with both business priorities and global impact.

"Sustainability is more than a goal—it’s a responsibility," said Brian Deck, Chief Executive Officer. "Every step we take today defines the kind of company we will be tomorrow."

The 2024 report serves as a key communication tool, showcasing how JBT Marel leverages its scale and expertise to deliver transformative solutions. By linking its business strategy to its core purpose of transforming the food future, the company aims to build trust with employees, customers, and stakeholders while operating responsibly and innovatively.
