Calvo increases sales and maintains its market growth
(SPAIN, 5/25/2015)
Calvo Group increased its sales by 7.4 per cent in 2014, to EUR 765 million, and managed to maintain a stable growth in all markets in which it operates.
The food group also recorded an increase in its operating results for the eighth consecutive year: it reported EBITDA of EUR 51.5 million, which is 5.2 per cent more than in 2013.
The American division of Calvo was the one that experienced the highest growth, 8.2 per cent compared with 3 per cent in Europe, El Ideal Gallego informed.
In 2014 was the first time the business group exceeded 100,000 tonnes of sales volume of the finished product. This result represents an increase of 6.2 per cent over the previous year and "a milestone in the 75 years’ history," company sources indicated.
For its part, Calvo’s delegate assessor, Manuel Calvo, stressed that 2014 results "again demonstrate the group’s solid business basis".
This company owns leading brands in their respective markets: Nostromo in Italy and Gomes da Costa in Brazil, among others.
Calvo is present in over 70 countries, has more than 4,500 employees, a fleet of 11 vessels and production and packaging plants in Spain, El Salvador and Brazil.
Calvo focuses on canning and seafood products, and has diversified its supply with the manufacture of natural products and other foods such as canned vegetables, salads and ready meals.
