Acme Smoked Fish Expands Blue Hill Bay Herring Line

  (UNITED STATES, 2/1/2012)

Acme Smoked Fish Corporation is expanding its Blue Hill Bay line with the introduction of two new products, Rollmops and Homestyle Herring.

The Blue Hill brand, introduced in 2000, is recognized nationwide for providing exquisite all-natural and preservative-free smoked fish and pickled herring products.

Acme has left the healthy skin intact on both products to provide an authentic old world culinary experience and to deliver a mildly tangier taste. The company’s Homestyle Herring jars further include the bone to keep its full flavour within the chuck.

All-natural and preservative free, Blue Hill Bay Herring line is made from the finest imported Canadian herring

The newest additions join an already popular line of retail pickled herring jars including Wine and Creme Herring, Dill Marinade and Spiced Matjes Herring, and Herring in Mustard Sauce.

“Our customers have expressed a strong interest in acquiring old world delicacies for a more traditional dining experience,” explains Gabriel Viteri, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. “We’re proud to bring these products to the market and to provide consumers with the freshest wild-caught herring harvested from pure Canadian waters.”

With four generations of experience, smoking fish is a way of life for those at Acme

Pickled herring, popular in European, German, Russian, Nordic, Dutch and Jewish cuisine, is traditionally flavoured with mustard, sherry and dill. This delicacy may be eaten with crisp or dark rye bread, akvavit or potatoes. Rollmops, a butterfly herring rolled around a dill pickle, may be served as an appetizer with boiled potatoes or garden-fresh onions.
