Clear roadmap to substantial production growth

Salmon Evolution ASA Enters Critical Scale-Up Phase After Challenging 2025

  (NORWAY, 2/25/2026)

Phase 2 expansion at Indre Harøy set to double production capacity as company prepares for stronger 2026 market

Highlights:

· Indre Harøy phase 2 progressing according to plan, first smolt release scheduled in week 17. Plan to release 2.8 million smolt in 2026, up 65% from 2025.

· High supply growth continued to pressure market prices through the quarter, impacting financial results.

· Breakeven farming operations net of phase 2 ramp-up costs. Revenues of 98.7 NOKm, farming EBITDA -1.3 NOKm and group EBITDA -8.4 NOKm.

· Updated partnership model in Korea reflecting Salmon Evolution's strategic priorities in the near to medium term, hereunder continued focus on operational excellence and phase 2 project execution.

Salmon Evolution ASA (OSE: SALME) closed 2025 with solid operational progress despite continued market pressure from elevated global salmon supply. The company is now entering a decisive scale-up phase, with its Indre Harøy Phase 2 expansion nearing completion and first smolt release scheduled for Week 17, 2026.

Fourth-quarter revenues reached NOK 98.7 million (approximately US$ 9.0 million), while group EBITDA ended at NOK -8.4 million (approximately US$ -0.77 million) following harvest volumes of 1,203 tonnes HOG (head-on gutted). Adjusted for ramp-up costs related to Phase 2, farming operations were breakeven during the quarter.

“While the quarter was affected by pressure on market prices, the underlying financial development was in line with our expectations. We made a strategic choice to prioritize 2026, entering the year with record biomass levels in anticipation of a stronger market,” said Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, CEO of Salmon Evolution ASA.

Phase 2 Expansion Nears Completion

The Indre Harøy Phase 2 project is approximately 70% complete and currently undergoing testing and commissioning. Civil works are largely finalized, with process installations now the main focus.

The company plans to release 2.8 million smolt in 2026, representing a 65% increase compared to 2025.

“With first smolt release less than 60 days away, we are entering the scale-up phase for Salmon Evolution, supported by a proven platform and positioned to double production capacity over the next 12 months,” added Schaug-Pettersen.

The expansion is expected to more than double harvest capacity, marking what the board describes as a “game changer” for long-term financial performance.

Operational Performance: Norway

Record Biomass Entering 2026

At the end of Q4, standing biomass totaled 3,119 tonnes live weight (LW) — slightly above run-rate targets. Net biomass growth reached 1,592 tonnes LW, up 5% year-over-year.

Operations at the grow-out facility at Indre Harøy, Norway remained stable, although Q4 production was influenced by logistics activity aimed at optimizing biomass ahead of 2026.

Biological KPIs remained strong:

  • Last twelve-month average mortality: ~3%

  • Superior grade share: 92%

  • Average harvest weight: 3.3 kg HOG

Ongoing optimization efforts include:

  • Increased tank utilization

  • Water quality improvements

  • Cross-disciplinary operational tuning

These initiatives are expected to support further biomass growth in coming quarters.

Dale Smolt Facility Outperforms

The Salmon Evolution Dale smolt facility delivered improved results compared to last year, driven by:

  • Favorable water temperatures

  • Corrective measures implemented in 2024

  • Facility upgrades to enhance smolt quality

All smolt deliveries in 2025 exceeded targeted stocking weights.

Due to temporary overcapacity, approximately 69 tonnes LW of smolt were sold in Q4 to a well-known sea-based salmon farmer, generating revenues of NOK 8.3 million (approximately US$ 0.75 million) under market terms.

Financial Performance: Q4 2025

Lower harvest volumes and weaker salmon prices weighed on quarterly results.

  • Revenues: NOK 98.7 million (US$ 9.0 million)

  • Average realized price: NOK 74/kg (US$ 6.70/kg) — down 10% year-over-year

  • Operating expenses: NOK 100.0 million (US$ 9.1 million)

  • Farming EBITDA: NOK -1.3 million (US$ -0.12 million)

  • Group EBITDA: NOK -8.4 million (US$ -0.77 million)

  • Operational EBIT: NOK -17.4 million (US$ -1.58 million)

Farming EBITDA cost per kilogram improved significantly to NOK 72.6/kg (US$ 6.58/kg), reflecting recovery from prior harvest deviations.

Depreciation for the quarter totaled NOK 16.1 million (US$ 1.46 million), reduced due to revised useful life estimates for certain equipment at the Dale facility.

Market Conditions and Outlook

The global salmon market in 2025 experienced double-digit supply growth, driven in part by record sea temperatures benefiting Norwegian sea-based farmers. This contributed to a roughly 30% year-over-year decline in price realization for Salmon Evolution ASA.

Despite short-term pricing pressure, the board remains confident in the long-term structural demand outlook for Atlantic salmon, citing:

  • Strong global consumption trends

  • Limited growth from traditional sea-based farming

  • Increasing focus on sustainable production

With Phase 1 fully operational and Phase 2 nearing launch, the company expects substantial organic investment capacity and improved financial performance in the coming years.

The board reiterated its long-term ambition:

To become the global benchmark for sustainable land-based salmon farming, delivering high-quality Atlantic salmon through operational and biological excellence.

As 2026 approaches, Salmon Evolution ASA stands positioned at a transformative moment — transitioning from execution to expansion, and from pressure to opportunity.

Salmon Evolution ASA、

Indre Harøy

Indre Harøy

Dale

Salmon Evolution Dale

Indre Harøy

Salmon Evolution ASA

Indre Harøy

Indre Harøy

Dale

Salmon Evolution Dale
