Harpak-ULMA, the industry leader in smart, connected packaging solutions, announces the North American launch of ULMA-Vision — its new, smart, high-performance integrated inspection system now available with its thermoform packaging platforms.
Vision inspection systems have long been used to ensure package integrity, overall product quality, and compliance with industry standards (such as traceability and validation).
ULMA Vision vision inspection systems are developed to perform reliable, efficient quality control for thermoformed food and medical packages, whether inline or as a standalone inspection unit.
Smart vision inspection systems are characterized by advancements in machine learning, advanced optics, and adaptive inspection routines.
ULMA-Vision offers not only exceptional performance but also unprecedented adaptability and flexibility to accommodate various packaging and product variations.
ULMA-Vision can perform film inspection, print inspection and bar code inspection.
ULMA-Vision systems easily scale with evolving production demands and easily and quickly adapt to changes in products, manufacturing volume, and throughput speeds.
ULMA Vision inspection systems offer reliable, efficient quality control for thermoformed food and medical device packages, whether inline or as a standalone inspection unit (standard or compact). In addition, a retrofit version is available for existing lines.
Regardless of version, the system guarantees the highest packaging quality by analyzing the seal, print, bar codes, and artwork - all while optimizing production throughput and ensuring compliance.
A highly intuitive software interface ensures fast and easy training and operation for operators.
John Weddleton, Harpak-ULMA's Automation Manager, noted, "In our markets, it's common practice for customers to build these solutions using multiple vendors – which frankly adds time, cost, and complexity. We're challenging that inefficiency by delivering pre-integrated vision inspection capabilities into our thermoforming lines".
John Weddleton.
"Our completely integrated solution arrives fully FAT-tested and ready to go. Even our retrofit and standalone versions are designed to operate with our platforms, thus reducing the time and cost of deployment.
"We've ensured these solutions align with our smart, connected machines vision and employ the most current technology available today".
"The outcome is an innovative, high-performing, and flexible vision inspection system with a lower total cost of ownership, which is easier to use and delivers outstanding value. As a result, we expect to see a lot of excitement in the market," Weddleton added.
Harpak-ULMA will previewed the standalone ULMA-Vision unit at the IPPE show in Atlanta, Jan. 30 - Feb. 1. The formal product launch, including the fully integrated thermoformer solution, will coincide with the Seafood Expo North America in the Boston Convention Center, Mar. 10 – 12 in booth 581.
