Until September, frozen mackerel imports decreased by 9%

Frozen mackerel imported in September 2023 was 48 tons, a 21% decrease from 61 tons in the same period last year.
Total import volume was 37,384 tons, a 9% decrease from the previous year's 33,926 tons, accounting for 4.7% of the total seafood volume of 714,911 tons.

As of September, 27,941 tons (82%) of frozen mackerel were imported from Norway, 3,645 tons from China, 1,352 tons from Taiwan, and 611 tons from the Netherlands. In the previous year, there were also imports from Ecuador and Lithuania.

The import price of frozen mackerel by country is the highest in the UK at USD 2.23/kg and Norway at USD 2.23/kg, followed by China at USD 1.97/kg, the Netherlands USD 2.03/kg, Germany USD 2.10/kg, and Taiwan at USD 1.48/kg. It was formed at a low level, and the average import price was USD 2.17/kg, a 9% decrease from the unit price of USD 2.39/kg in the same period last year.
The cumulative import amount in September was USD 73.55 million, a decrease of 18% compared to USD 89.42 million in the same period last year.
