Easy-to-Consume Capsules and Drink Launched on October 10th via Official Mail Order Store
Nissui Co., Ltd. has launched two new health support foods, "Uokatsu Senka Capsules" and "Uokatsu Senka Drink," to provide an easy way for consumers to get essential nutrients EPA and DHA. These products became available exclusively through the official Nissui mail order store on October 10th.
EPA and DHA, commonly found in blue fish like sardines, are challenging for the body to produce and are often lacking in modern diets.
Developed as simple supplements, "Uokatsu Senka" aims to help individuals who eat fish infrequently or find other health-certified foods too demanding. The recommended daily serving (two capsules or one drink) delivers 300 mg of EPA and DHA, which accounts for one-third of the recommended daily intake for people in Japan, according to a JPHC study (Circulation. 2006; 113, 195-202).
Nissui states that the new line utilizes the "bounty of the sea" to support the healthy lifestyles of its customers.

Raising the price of materials for Europeans could make the industry lose competitiveness, which would have to face the advantage given to canned goods from other countries that do not have taxes on packaging.
The tariff war the US is waging with the rest of the world and the EU's protectionist response could have collateral damage on Galician canned goods. And not precisely because what goes inside the can is being taxed, but because of the can itself. This eagerness to protect EU steel and aluminum by raising tariffs from 25% to 50% "to guarantee the long-term viability of a strategically crucial industry"

Norway was an early leader in integrating sustainability into fisheries management and in 1977, a long-term plan for the Norwegian fishing industry made sustainable resources adhere to a core policy goal. The plan emphasised social and economic aspects, preserving coastal communities and ensuring secure jobs with competitive incomes.
U.K. grocer Waitrose announced that it will adopt Seafish’s Seafood Carbon Emissions Profiling Tool (SCEPT).
The tool, which was created by the U.K. seafood sector public body, allows seafood businesses to assess carbon footprints for both wild-caught and farmed seafood products. Retailers input data about their supply chains, such as fuel use, processing, packaging, and transportation information, and SCEPT generates a carbon footprint they can use to compare the product or processors to other options.
