New line added to Sirane's food packaging portfolio.

Innovative Cooking Bags Individually Wrapped for ‘Meal Kits’

  (UNITED KINGDOM, 11/12/2015)

Cooking bags individually wrapped for use with trays or as part of ‘meal kits’ along with packs of sauces or spices have been added to the Sirane food packaging portfolio.

Steam-cooking bags for oven or microwave, or BBQ/oven bags can be a great way of adding value to sales, and could be a vital part of many ready-meals or ‘cooking meal kits’.

But supplying the food in the bag – or supplying the bag loose – is not always ideal, which is why Sirane has added Folded, Packed and Sealed to the list of cooking bag options.

The steam-cooking bags supplied as Folded, Packed and Sealed allows to incorporated numerous methods of retailing fresh food, always adding value.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director, said: “Offering the products as Folded, Packed and Sealed is the obvious next step. It allows customers to either put the small packet in the sealed tray with, for example fish, as a means of the customer cooking it.

“But it also allows for an easy development of ‘meal kits’. Retailers could sell the fish or meat, the cooking bag, and a packet of either sauce or spices, all packaged separately. However, sold together they would add real value, becoming an instant ‘fresh food ready meal kit’.

Sirane has added to its product line the cooking bags individually wrapped for use with trays or as part of ‘meal kits’ along with packs of sauces or spic.

“The end-user simply needs to remove the cooking bag from the packet, add the meat or fish and the sauce/spices, and follow the cooking instructions – it is a simple as that. One customer is using the bags as a great way of adding value to marinated fish – a sealed pack contains the fish and then a small sachet for the customer to easily cook the fish in.”

Sirane’s steam-cooking bags are bags which allow all the flavours to be sealed in for simple, tasty cooking in either the oven at up to 200 degrees Celsius or in the microwave – perfect for healthy cooking and portion control, without sacrificing any of the flavour.

“Steam-cooking is a great way of cooking many foods, particularly fish/seafood, poultry and vegetables. It is easy, very healthy and perhaps most importantly of all it offers great tasting food in a matter of minutes," said Jeremy Haydn-Davies.

The Si-bag - oven/microwave steam-cooking counter bag perfect for fish/seafood, poultry, vegetables and fruit-based desserts.

“By supplying our steam-cooking bags as Folded, Packed and Sealed it allows them to be incorporated into numerous methods of retailing fresh food, always adding value. Our steam cooking bags have been developed by Sirane’s engineers and scientists. They are made from very high temperature resistant film, which combines practicality with simplicity. The meal is sealed in using a fold-over flap and the bag becomes odour and leak-proof."

They can be supplied in a range of sizes, a range of colours, and printed or non-printed. The Sira-Cook Supreme bag is simple to use, simple to open, cooks food to perfection – and can be used in many cooking environments, from ovens to BBQs, griddles to hot plates.

Sira-Cook™ Smart-Release™ microwaveable dual compartment steam cooking bags.

Simon Balderson, Sirane managing director, said: “Sira-Cook Supreme is a foil bag capable of withstanding significant direct heat, allowing for its use on a barbecue as well as in an oven. The food will be tender, retain all the juices and flavours as well as the goodness.

“Supplying Sira-Cook Supreme bags as Folded, Packed and Sealed offers retailers great potential; they can supply, for example, meat, marinades and a cooking bag as a ‘BBQ kit’.”

Sira-Cook™ Self-Seal™ counter bags - fresh food from store to oven.

The bag is available in a number of sizes and in a standard and non-stick version (perfect for seafood). It comes with a clear top panel – so users can see what’s being cooked.

It is perfect for meat, fish, poultry and vegetables – anything that can be cooked in an oven or on a barbecue can be cooked in this bag – and it means people will no longer have to cook separately for meat-eaters and vegetarians, as the bags can cook side by side.

Nylon roasting bags in a range of sizes could also be supplied Folded, Packed and Sealed. Bags supplied in this way could be sold with joints of meat or whole chickens/turkeys, and could be incorporated into ‘roast dinner kits’. Nylon is a great material for roasting meat, it has high temperature resistance, will not get brittle, and offers stunning results.

Sira-Cook™ Supreme™ bags for ovens, griddle, hot-plates & BBQ/barbecue.
