North Atlantic Seafood Forum 2011

  (NORWAY, 2/1/2011)

The North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) is the largest seafood business conference in the world, and a leading meeting place for the seafood industry. In March 2010, 450 top-level executives from 22 countries and 250 companies attended NASF.

This year's NASF conference is to be staged in Oslo on March 1-3, 2011

NASF is a broad annual industry event covering all major facets of the seafood sectors. NASF focuses on the key network between cutting edge innovation, technology, research, policy, finance and commercialisation. The 6th conference in 2011 is an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with the leading world seafood operators, and other key players, along with financing institutions from the world´s largest seafood capital market, all in the same venue.

80 international top-level speakers and experts will adress 7 NASF seminars

NASF provides everybody connected to the seafood industry with a unique meeting place to:

• Hear the latest in innovative and commercial developments;
• Learn about the industry´s political and legislative direction;
• Understand the financial and economic issues affecting the market;
• Connect with leading seafood companies in the world.

NASF is the world's largest seafood business conference and a leading meeting place for top industry executive

The NASF conference will provide new and invaluable insights and give you the fast-track to the global seafood markets

• A pre-conference - sets focus on R&D and the collaboration between science and the industry
• Open session - “the view from the bridge”; learn from politicians, industry captains and leading seafood companies
• Parallel sessions - for the latest update on industry challenges, supply and market outlook, prices, innovation and business
• Major industry arena for developing business and commercial opportunities

NASF 2011 is also reprising a highly acclaimed retail seminar. Increasingly, businesses realise that focus on the consumer adds value and increases (financial) sustainability. The growth of the modern grocery retail chains means that to get to your consumers you now go through fewer retail chains – who have a sophisticated understanding of their customers’ needs.

A packed plenary/seminar programme, supplemented by social events, adds up to a unique networking opportunity, where delegates have time and space to meet and talk

What products are likely to gain and lose in a time of reduced disposable income? Experts from leading retail chains in Europe such as Chris Britton, (CEO Findus Group, UK), Benot Denni, (General Manager, Leclerc Group, France), Jurgen Pauly (Fish Category Manager, Globus SB, Germany) Ally Dingwall, Aquaculture and Fisheries Manager, Sainsbury's Group, UK), Chris Brown (Head of Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing, ASDA Stores, UK), among others, have been invited to present the latest market information and look ahead to future trends. This not-to-be missed seminar gives you the first-hand opportunity to hear from some of Europe’s top retailers about their businesses – and what it means for you.

About NASF

The  North Atlantic Seafood Forum draws the leading players in cold-water seafood. The biggest international event of its kind, CEO's of leading seafood companies in Norway and internationally take part to network, share their insights, discuss threats and opportunities and compare notes.

A packed plenary/seminar programme, supplemented by social events, adds up to a unique networking opportunity, where delegates have time and space to meet and talk.

NASF Conference Director Jorgen J. Lund acquired NASF from Norway Trade Fairs in April 2010 and entered into a partnership with the seafood industry association, MareLife. NASF is now owned by the MareLife members. Pareto Securities has taken over the NASF finance and investor seminar on an exclusive basis. MareLife is a unique and independent innovation network covering all marine sectors.

NASF is organised in cooperation with Pareto Securities, Oslo Teknopol and the Norwegian Seafood Export Council.
