Managing director of Grieg Seafood Hjaltland Ltd, Michael Stark, said: “We are very pleased to have been shortlisted in no less than four categories for these prestigious awards.

“We are also delighted that our environmental credentials have, once again, taken us to the finals of the Highlands and Islands Food Awards. In 2008 we went on to win the award, which was testament to the hard work and dedication of our workforce in ensuring that our environmental standards are upheld and that the clear and unpolluted environment on which we rely is protected to optimise production and protect the reputation of our product.”

The nominations follow a number of recent accolades for the company. Grieg Seafood won International Business of the Year at the Scottish Food and Drink Excellence Awards 2007, it was highly commended in the ‘Best Export Business’ category at the Scottish Salmon Farm Awards 2007 and a finalist in the ‘Best Marine Farm’, ‘Stewardship’, Aquaculture Processor or Retailer of the Year’ categories at the Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards 2008. The company won the Fish Category in the Quality Food Awards 2009 for WildWaters Smoked Salmon 'Pastrami' and the Fish and Seafood Category in the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards 2010.
