Ristic AG Receives 2010 Prize for Corporate Ethics

Ristic AG, the German based European Shrimp and Seafood Specialist has been awarded the 2010 prize for corporate ethics. The DNWE (Deutsches Netzwerk für Wirtschaftsethik) recognizes the long-term and sustainable business approach and socio-ecological commitment of Ristic AG. Previous winners include Novartis, Faber-Castell and Puma.
In 2002 Ristic AG initiated its fieldwork in Costa Rica developing standards for the sustainable ocean catch of shrimps as well as offering support to upgrade shrimp farms of the country to organic levels. To achieve this, Ristic AG was involved in two public private partnership projects and one long-term joint venture with the Universidad de San José in Costa Rica.
“We are proud to say that our Costa Rican Shrimps today are certified both EU (European Union) organic as well as through the organization Friend of the Sea”, claims Chairman Peter Ristic.
Ristic AG will continue to focus on socio-ecological and sustainable projects in 2010 onwards.
