The modern CCS -class refrigerated transport ship 'Huize Lengyun 15'

The Chinese organization that operates squid in South America has a new transport

  (CHINA, 9/2/2024)

As the autumn breeze sets in and temperatures drop, it's the perfect season to enjoy squid. Rest assured, your squid is already on its way, loaded onto the CCS-class refrigerated transport ship "Huize Lengyun 15."

Recently, the "Huize Lengyun 15," the first 13,200 DWT refrigerated transport ship built by Ningbo Donghe Ship Repair Co., Ltd. for Zhejiang Huize International Shipping Co., Ltd., was successfully delivered and embarked on its maiden voyage after passing inspection by the China Classification Society (CCS). This vessel holds the distinction of being the largest deadweight tonnage refrigerated transport ship ever built in Ningbo.

The "Huize Lengyun 15" measures 157.80 meters in length, 23.20 meters in beam, and 13.70 meters in depth, with a designed speed of 18.2 knots and a cruising range of 10,800 nautical miles. It features a refrigeration capacity of up to -35 degrees Celsius and holds the CCS "G-ECO (CD25)" notation, aligning with the principles of green, low-carbon, and circular development. It is a green and environmentally friendly ship, boasting efficient speed, high refrigeration capacity, and superior insulation. The vessel will primarily be used to transport fish catches from South American countries, such as Peru, Argentina, and Chile, to ports in China, including Zhoushan, enabling the complete industrial chain from harvesting to processing edible squid products.

As a support vessel for distant-water fishing, refrigerated transport ships like the "Huize Lengyun 15" play a crucial role in the integrated development of the entire aquatic product supply chain—from fishing and transport to deep processing, storage, and delivery. This, in turn, promotes the sustainable growth and modernization of the distant-water fishing industry.

Throughout its construction, CCS Zhejiang Branch surveyors were stationed in the Xiangshan Inspection Area, closely collaborating with the shipowner and shipyard to overcome technical challenges and ensure high-quality shipbuilding. Moving forward, CCS remains committed to providing excellent service and support to shipyards and shipowners with robust technical expertise and a dedicated service approach.
