Innovasea, a global leader in technologically advanced aquatic solutions for aquaculture and fish tracking, announced today that it is now offering land-based aquaculture solutions to the Chilean aquaculture industry. For more than 30 years, Innovasea has been providing precision aquaculture tools and professional services around the world to support ocean and land-based aquaculture, including recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).
The company is expanding its professional services and technology solutions to better serve the growing land-based salmon farm industry in Chile, one of the world’s largest fish farming regions.
Innovasea’s products for land-based fish farming include drum and disc filters for water quality control, UV sterilization and ozone disinfection tools, automated feeding systems, and gas management technologies. These solutions seamlessly integrate with existing operations and are supported by automated control systems and software that optimize a farm’s efficiency and profitability. In terms of professional services, Marc Turano, VP of Land-Based Aquaculture at Innovasea, said “Our team in Chile includes former fish farmers who know the industry from every angle. They offer top-notch expertise and hands-on technical support to implement tailored solutions that boost fish production, lessen environmental impacts, improve regulatory compliance, streamline operations and increase profitability.”
Located in Puerto Varas, Innovasea’s Chilean operation opened in 2020, and has since collaborated with Chilean aquaculture companies that have installed Innovasea’s industry-leading aquaculture solutions.
The office is managed by Innovasea’s Juan Pablo Barrales, who has more than 25 years of experience working in Chile’s aquaculture industry and holds an aquaculture engineering degree from Universidad Andres Bello.
“Building on almost five years of supporting net-pen salmon farmers to boost productivity and profitability, I’m thrilled to be able to deliver Innovasea’s proven technology and equipment to land-based customers in Chile,” said Barrales. “Our hands-on technical support and services will ensure our customers long-term success with their hatchery and grow-out operations.”
