The Innova Marine Pack provides registration and packing at sea.

Marel Shows the Way at DanFish International in Denmark

  (DENMARK, 8/22/2013)

The focus at Marel's stand will be on the Innova Marine Pack – a purpose-built registration tool for any fishing vessel that needs to comply with EU fishing control and traceability regulation.

The onboard registration and packing solution consists of M2200 marine scale, a label printer and Innova, Marel's groundbreaking production management software. Innova makes it possible to create reports that provide an overview of elements such as catch value, packing history, cargo reports and e-log reports.

Innova MarinePack is a hardware and software system for registering information about all fish species and grades, harbor, fishing gear and other information relevant for either a report or label.

Key benefits of Innova Marine Pack:

  • Plug-and-play packing system
  • Flexible report definition and set-up
  • Compliance with EU fishing control regulations
  • E-log book option
Innova MarinePack reports provide an overview of everything from catch value and packing history to cargo and e-log reports. The report below shows catch value and includes a graphic view.

Accurate weighing and packing on-board increases yield, maintains peak quality and minimizes handling. Vessels can land products that are graded, boxed, labelled and ready for delivery.

Marel will also present stand-alone marine scales, which offer flexible weighing and packing with motion compensation, designed for use on board fishing vessels and factory trawlers.

Left: The M2200 indicator supports manual and automatic tare setting, recording of box weight, handling weight into tubs, filter option to select species, repacking a part box for completion, simple data export etc.
Right: The Innova MarinePack comes with predefined label designs (two as default).
Labels can be tailored to traceability and other requirements.

About DanFish International

DanFish International exhibition is among the leading in Scandinavia for marine equipment.

There has, since 1974 with 2-3 year intervals been held fishing fairs in Aalborg. Aalborg is geographically the centre for over half of the registered Danish fishermen. The fair has always been marketed as "The fishermen's own Fair". The fair is targeted both at the industry's large as well as small providers, and focuses primarily on equipment for the fisherman, his boat and fishing gear.

Already in 1993, there are ongoing cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through embassies and consulates to provide foreign visitors to the fair. With the name change to DanFish International in 1996 the international aim was increased and the development has continued ever since. Around half a million Danish kroner were set at stake for these visits. It was a success, with participating delegations from 16 countries, totalling about 140 persons.

Since 2007, the invited buyers are identified in collaboration with the Danish Export Association and in 2011 the foreign delegations consisted of approx. 100 persons from 25 countries. At all fairs in Aalborg the stand area, which today is around 9000 m2, has been sold out. Due to an increased number of exhibitors it has been necessary to expand the exhibition space, namely with 1 mobile hall in the nearby Kildeparken.
