McDonald's incorporates certified fish on the menu

The American chain McDonald's incorporated battered fish as a new option both in their combos for children as in those for adults in the firm’s 420 fast food restaurants in Spain.
McMenú’s current offer will add 'Fish Fillet' consisting of battered cod, accompanied by tartar sauce and cheddar cheese. Besides, it will offer battered fish with ketchup sauce in the children's menu, called 'McFish'.
The two new products are made with eastern Baltic cod, from a fishery that has been certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Europa Press reported.
Thus, McDonald's has become the first restaurateur company in Spain to offer MSC certified fish products. Globally, it is also the first restaurant to obtain the certificate, among more than 7,000 food stores in 39 countries.
With the addition of fish protein, the multinational firm strengthens its commitment to a balanced lifestyle and healthy eating habits.
The aim of Mc Donald's is based on three pillars: the supply of a varied menu, the encouragement of physical activity and the provision of nutrition information on guideline daily amounts.
Therefore, the company informed that in recent years it has been expanding its product range, offering a "wide variety" of salads, gazpacho, five new blends of coffee, 1955 Burger, the new 'McWrap' and gluten-free bread for celiac patients.
It also incorporated fruit and vegetables in its children's menu.
