Red Lobster Reveals Seafood With Standards Commitments
(UNITED STATES, 2/5/2018)
Red Lobster®, the world's largest seafood restaurant company, has unveiled its Seafood with Standards platform, detailing its commitments to serving the highest quality seafood that is sourced in a manner that is Traceable, Sustainable and Responsible:
Traceable…to a known and trusted source
Sustainable…only sourced from trusted suppliers who follow industry best practices
Responsible…by following Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and other regulatory efforts that manage fish populations, such as fishing quotas, and avoiding serving at-risk species
Traceable. Sustainable. Responsible. That’s been Red Lobster's game plan for the past 50 years.
Red Lobster has been committed to seafood sustainability since the company first opened its doors in 1968. As the brand celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, it is also celebrating 50 years of leading the industry in sustainability. As a founding member of the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), Red Lobster helped establish guidelines for best practices and aquaculture certifications and has spent decades building trusting, personal relationships with suppliers who share the brand's values.
For 50 years, it’s been Red Lobster´s commitment to serve Seafood with Standards.
"Red Lobster's vision is to be where the world goes for seafood, now and for generations. To do that, we need to make sure we're sourcing in a way that ensures there's high quality seafood available to enjoy for generations to come," said Kim Lopdrup, CEO, Red Lobster. "Responsible sourcing has been a priority for us since the very beginning, and we're proud to now share this information with our guests so they can feel good about dining with us."
Red Lobster can deliver great value because of its size and scale as the largest restaurant purchaser of seafood in the world.
