The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is the single biggest commercial event in Iceland and it enjoys the full support of all major organisations.

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition Returns from 25-27 September 2014

  (ICELAND, 5/28/2014)

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2014 covers every aspect of the commercial fishing industry from catching and locating to processing and packaging, right through to marketing and distribution of the final product.

The show started in 1984 and, in response to the wishes of the exhibitors, has been held on a three year cycle ever since. This ensures exhibiting companies have new technologies, products and services to showcase at each event which, in turn, means visitors know they rely on the exhibition to keep them informed of new developments from across the market.

The last show saw 489 companies from 33 countries exhibiting, including six national groups.

The 2014 show will be the 11th in the series and the previous event held in 2011, saw an encouraging air of optimism as many exhibitors secured large orders and, not only was attendance up on the 2008 event by 9% to 13,547, but the number of countries from which attendees came, also increased to 52.

In addition, new for 2011, was an ecolabelling and traceability seminar provisionally entitled ‘Icelandic Responsible Fisheries Programme’. This was organised by Promote Iceland and held alongside the exhibition in association with The Fisheries Association of Iceland.

The total attendance in 2011 was 12,429 visitors from 50 countries.

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2014 will be much more than just an exhibition and plans for a conference, the 6th Icelandic Fisheries Awards, inward delegations and plant visits are well underway.

The sixth Icelandic Fisheries Awards will be held on the opening night of the Exhibition. Taking place immediately after the closure of the first day of the exhibition, it will take the format of a Cocktail Reception which will offer great networking opportunities for all. The awards evening has become synonymous with the venue – the beautiful Gerðarsafn Art gallery, which is only five minutes away from the exhibition.

Launched in 1984, the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition has developed into one of the world's premier events for all aspects of the commercial fishing industry.

The Icelandic Fisheries Awards were first introduced in 1999 to recognise and award excellence in the Icelandic and International Fishing Industry, and the stature of this event has grown over the years. The awards are hotly contested and are now truly seen as an accolade with winners using their success in the Awards to promote their company and products.

A limited number of prestigious sponsorship opportunities are available which offer the perfect opportunity to promote your brand in the run up to the event and also on the night.

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2014 covers every aspect of the commercial fishing industry.
