Escal was created in 1976 to produce and market frozen specialties based on seafood and snails.

Escal, Superior Frozen Food Brand

  (FRANCE, 2/3/2014)

A specialist in a wide selection of frozen products, Escal has developed its range thanks to innovations and the ability to adapt to clients’ requirements. Currently, the ranges are offered under 2 brand names and 3 distinct visuals.

Companies that use the same name for several brands with several different looks can be counted on the fingers of one hand and Escal is among them. Historical brand of the group, Escal currently adorns a chocolate brown to represent the products of the earth and a deep blue for sea food.

Combining a delicious natural taste and a strong commitment to preserve the marine resources, the Escal organic range is constantly progressing.

Escal has its origins in the production of escargots (snails) and Alsace. That is saying how much the regional roots and the preparation of snails are a part of the DNA of the company.

Escal offers a wide range of  seafood specialities.

Sister company of the other Escal, Escal seafood brings in its caution and a genuine quality guarantee to the various types of seafood, mainly as regards the choice of ingredients that are carefully selected and scrupulously inspected. A pledge of quality, the brand also ensures that the company's products are obtained with a view to preserving natural resources.

The Programme Nutrition Santé (Nutrition and Health Programme) recommends eating fish or other seafood twice a week. Escal offers a wide selection of seafood: shrimp, raw shrimp, natural shrimp, flavoured shrimp, organic salmon, organic tilapia, sea food cocktails, scallops, fish, shellfish, molluscs… a range that does not compromise on the quality of the products.

Escal's brand ‘Gourmet d’Alsace’, is a name that speaks for itself for gourmets (and amateurs) who appreciate Alsatian specialities. With its name that is evocative of the Alsatian gastronomic tradition and its visual of a stork that is authentic at the same time modern, Gourmet d’Alsace promises Alsace lovers traditional and delicious dishes.

Escal is currently European organic certified with the AB and Naturland certifications for its Strasbourg and Neunhoffen units.

Escal’s constant and high-priority objective is the satisfaction of its clients by making products that are in compliance with their requirements, all the while preserving the sustainability of the natural resources that are necessary for the activity.

To help consumers recognize products from sustainable aquaculture, Escal has decided to affix the GlobalG.A.P. logo ‘Sustainable aquaculture’ above on its products concerned. Escal is also committed to responsible aquaculture and supports the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and has been sporting the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification for several years now, with an independent annual audit.

Escal's range of frozen natural seafood allows you to enjoy seafood naturally or prepare them according to your taste and creativity.
