Marel Salmon ShowHow Attracts Crowds

Over 200 guests from 23 countries as far apart as Australia and Canada and representing 93 key companies gathered in Nørresundby, Denmark, last week for the opening of the 11th annual Marel Salmon ShowHow.

Staged in a 500 square metres showroom at the company’s Salmon Division facility, highlights of the day included live demonstrations of some of the systems and equipment that serve to highlight Marel’s position as the leading supplier of systems and equipment to the global salmon industry.

The MS 2730 ensures improved yield

Among the equipment attracting particular attention was the new MS 2730 salmon filleting machine, shown operating with an Intelligent Trimming Line (ITM).

The MS 2730 ensures improved yield and a high throughput with up to 25 fish/minute. Since the introduction last year the advanced filleting machine has been tested thoroughly and improved to gain optimum performance for both pre-rigor and post-rigor fish, as well as a range of slicing applications, the newest of which comes integrated with Marel’s industry-leading Innova production management software.

Also introduced for the first time this year were facilitated networking opportunities for guests in the show’s auditorium, with participants able to meet and greet on the day or by prior arrangement on-line.

Now established as one of the must-see events in the exhibition calendar, the Marel Salmon ShowHow provides a ready-made forum at which some of the world’s leading producers of wild and farmed salmon can meet, discuss and experience the latest technological developments in the industry.
