Copacol maintains BAP/SPS certification in the Fish Unit

Copacol maintained BAP/SPS certification (Best Aquaculture Practices) after an unannounced audit at the Fish Industrial Unit carried out by SGS Chile. Strictly following the rules, the Cooperative structure in Nova Aurora achieved certification for the fifth consecutive year.

The certification is based on four pillars: food safety, social well-being, environment, health and animal welfare.
All elements are connected by a traceability system. “Achieving this certification reinforces how consolidated we are with the culture of quality in our processes, where everyone is aligned and we are complying with the procedures”, comments the Unit Manager, Laís Peça.
Auditor Mario Pastén was at the Unit to check internal processes, from the arrival of the fish in the purification tanks to the packaging and dispatch of the final product.
According to Copacol's Quality Manager, Márcia Ferrari, these audits support Copacol's quality management system. “Maintaining this certification is the validation of all procedures carried out within the best quality criteria and production standards, establishing and complying with appropriate procedures with current standards”.

With modern facilities, the Fish Industrial Unit in Nova Aurora processes 150,000 transformed tilapia daily.
