Korean frozen stingray imports by September decreased by 12%

The volume of frozen stingrays (ray or skate) imported in September 2023 was 508 tons, a 23% decrease compared to 661 tons in the same period last year.
Total import volume was 4,774 tons, down 12% from the previous year's 5,446 tons, accounting for 0.67% of the total seafood import volume of 714,911 tons.
As of September, 2,230 tons of frozen stingrays were imported from the United States, 1,023 tons from Argentina, 551 tons from Russia, 332 tons from Spain, and 327 tons from Brazil.
As of September, the unit price of frozen stingrays by country was the highest in Spain at USD 4.77/kg, followed by USD 3.09/kg in the United States, USD 4.50/kg in Argentina, USD 2.33/kg in Russia, USD 4.20/kg in Brazil, and USD 0.78/kg in the Faroe Islands. formed at the lowest level. The average import price was USD 3.85/kg, a 32% increase from USD 2.92/kg the previous year.
The import amount of frozen stingrays in September was USD 1.72 million, an 11% increase from the previous year's USD 1.55 million.
The cumulative import amount was USD 18.39 million, a 16% increase compared to USD 15.88 million in the same period last year.
