Putting Gender Equality on the Agenda of the Seafood Industry.

Survey: Gender on the Agenda of the Seafood Industry

  (FRANCE, 10/3/2017)

One in two seafood workers is a women; yet women are over-represented in low skills low paid positions and they count for less than 10% of company directors and a mere 1% of CEO.

The WSI (International Association for Women in the Seafood Industry) has created a survey called  "Putting Gender Equality on the Agenda of the Seafood Industry".

This survey is designed to help understand the situation and the perception that men and women have on this issue. Your anonymous responses will contribute to a better understanding of the situation. The survey is available until the end of October 2017.

WSI’s goals are to highlight women’s contribution to the seafood industry, to raise awareness of gender issues within this industry and to promote professional equality between men and women.

WSI main objective is to share with industry stakeholders the diagnosis that social researchers have depicted for quite some time now:  women are key forces of the industry, yet the gender imbalance remains important.

In this project, WSI is looking for opinion of seafood professionals and would highly value your participation. The results of this large scale study will be shared with the industry around February 2018.

The WSI has already received the backing of men and women seafood professionals from France, the UK, Norway, Egypt, Australia, United States.

Feel free to share it with your colleagues, the WSI needs as many people as possible to fill in the questionnaire. Click here to see the questionnaire in English
