The Minister of Production, Sergio Gonzalez Guerrero, participated this morning in the installation of the Multisectoral Commission of the Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal Project (TPMCH), where he announced that his management has a comprehensive vision for the development of this city that will promote industrialization and National Production.
In this framework, he asserted that the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) has been building the artisanal fishing landing site (DPA) of Chancay to promote this economic activity.
“At PRODUCE we are promoting productive development with a comprehensive vision, we want there to be a comprehensive package for fishermen, with a modern DPA appropriate to current health standards,” he stated.
Gonzalez Guerrero explained that the works are more than 90% complete and there is an investment of more than S/23 million. The work, once completed, will benefit 3,000 people, including fishermen and their families.
This modern infrastructure in the small north is expected to be ready by the end of the second quarter of 2024.
Impact of the Chancay megaport
The head of PRODUCE also indicated that the Chancay port terminal will position our country as an economic leader in the region and that this work is added to the expansion of the Jorge Chávez airport and the future Ancón Industrial Park as engines for the development of the country.
“This large mega port will position Peru as an economic leader in the region, it will help export our products to Asia, especially China. Likewise, it will give greater viability to works such as the Ancón industrial park, which will have an investment of more than US$700 million, and the expansion of the airport, generating productive development for the country,” he assured.
