The canning company Thenaisie-Provôté ensures that 125 cans of mussels from abroad were labelled as Galician mussels by mistake, so there is "no reason at all" to be charged for fraud.
Last June, the Regulatory Council of the Galician Mussel initiated a complaint with the company for alleged consumer fraud for having sold cans of foreign mussels as if they were native to Galicia.
A few days ago, the Council provided new data to the court handling the case against the cannery, and raised to 9,000 the alleged number of non-Galician product cans.
