The Spanish company Albacora SA reached an agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on a significant reduction in the economic sanctions imposed for fisheries violations in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the United States in the Western and Central Pacific.
While initially the proposed sanction for its vessel Albacora Uno amounted to EUR 7.4 million, the company managed to reduce it to EUR 5 million, to be destined to the Western Pacific Sustainable Fisheries Fund.
