Every day, throughout the year, more than 36 million meals of Norwegian Seafood are served worldwide. The task of the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) is to develop the markets for Norwegian Seafood on behalf of the Norwegian seafood Industry.
NSC is a state owned company, owned by The Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs and financed through a levy paid by all exporters of Norwegian seafood. NSC is the largest generic marketing company for seafood in the world. Every year, the Norwegian Seafood Council carries out several hundred activities in more than 20 different markets, and its entire efforts are financed by the Norwegian seafood industry itself.Norway exports seafood to around 150 different countries, and Norway is the second largest seafood exporter in the world and world leader in production of farmed Atlantic Salmon.
The Norwegian Seafood Council has its headquarter in Tromso, Norway and has offices in China, Japan, Singapore, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, USA, UK and Sweden.
The office in UK was opened in London in July 2013.
