Nofima Norconserv is the center of gastronomy and industrial processing, and is an institute for applied research in the processing of marine raw materials and other foodstuffs.
Nofima Norconserv is a company in the research group Nofima and business district located in Måltidets House on campus at Ullandhaug in Stavanger. The area is conveniently located midway between downtown Stavanger, Forus and the airport. The bus is very well developed and there are buses several times an hour from both Stavanger, Sandnes and Sola.
Norconserv Foundation was established in 1985 with background from the Norwegian Canners’ Association, the Research Laboratory of the Norwegian Canning Industry, the Norwegian Quality Control Institute of Canned Fish Products, the Norwegian Canning College, the Advertising Fund of the Norwegian Canning Industry and several industry groups.
In 2003 the research activities were spun off to Norconserv AS.
Norconserv AS joined the research group Nofima AS as from 2008 under the name Nofima Norconserv AS. From 2011, Nofima AS is one company.
