The Loblaw operating segment, which is operated by Loblaw Companies Limited and its subsidiaries, is Canada’s largest food distributor and a provider of general merchandise, drugstore, and financial products and services.
The Weston Foods operating segment is a fresh and frozen baking company in Canada and is engaged in frozen baking and biscuit manufacturing in the United States. In December 20008, Saputo Inc. acquired the activities of Weston’s Neilson Dairy, the dairy division of Weston Foods (Canada) Inc. The Company announced that its subsidiary, Dunedin Holdings S.a r.l., completed the sale, on January 21, 2009, of its fresh bread and baked goods business in the United States to Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. de C.V.
