Escal has its origins in the contraction of escargots (snails) and Alsace.

ESCAL was created in 1976 to produce and market frozen specialties based on seafood and snails. Present in nearly 20 countries (70% of sales are for export), ESCAL has its own distribution subsidiary located in Germany for 30 years.
