The Vandar Hatcheries "Huymar" and "Tabasca" are considered the most modern in Ecuador. With a combined production of 150 million of postlarvae per month, using a closed cycle and selection techniques, the shrimp hatcheries develop their own broodstock in order to guarantee nauplii and postlarvae production, therefore getting a stable and continuous supply without depleting wild stocks.
