Prices and trends in the Tilapia Market

The analysis begins with the CEPEA-Peixe BR tilapia price indicator, which presents us with vital information about how the market is doing. Starting with the States of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, in the Great Lakes region, there was a notable increase of two cents per kilo. The average price reached R$9.78 (USD1.98), suggesting stable demand for this popular variety of fish.

In Paraná, in the North region, the average price remained stable at R$ 9.79 (USD 1.98). However, in the western region of Paraná, there was a significant increase of six cents, raising the average price to R$ 9.58 (USD 1.94) per kilo. This increase may indicate changes in demand or market conditions in that region.

Directly from Morada Nova de Minas, we saw an increase of three cents, with an average price of R$9.46 (USD 1.92) per kilo. It is interesting to note that this increase coincided with a period of rising temperatures, which may have boosted the tilapia business. After all, on hot days in Brazil, there is nothing better than enjoying a healthy tilapia snack.

Native Fish Market

In the native fish market, the situation still remains with low supply, resulting in small price increases in some regions. This trend is considered normal for this time of year and is expected to continue in the coming months. Starting in November, it is possible that some regions will experience an increase in the supply of tilapia and other types of native fish.

Highlights of the week

This week was marked by important events and developments in the tilapia sector. The Congress and Architecture Fair in Foz do Iguaçu brought together the productive sector in a very successful event. The active participation of professionals in the area demonstrates the ongoing commitment to promoting and strengthening the tilapia market.

Furthermore, minister André de Paula visited the state of Paraná, where he had the opportunity to get to know the tilapia production system up close. These visits and interactions are crucial to increasing understanding of the sector and promoting effective collaboration between government and producers.

During the Congress, the manual of good practices for controlling salmonella in round fish was launched. Salmonella has been a health concern for many years and this initiative is an important step towards controlling this disease, which can have a significant impact on the tilapia business.

Finally, the week also brought exciting news about the Água Pescadores team, who left for a fishing trip in Argentina. This group of fishermen, made up of members of the agricultural production chain in Brazil, continues to strengthen ties between those involved in the sector.

To conclude, the tilapia market in Brazil remains dynamic and full of opportunities. Prices are responding to a number of factors, including changes in demand and weather conditions. Additionally, promising events and initiatives are taking place to further improve the quality and safety of tilapia products.

As the market continues to evolve, producers and industry participants must be prepared to adapt to changes and seize opportunities as they arise. The future looks promising for the tilapia market in Brazil.
