One of the three planes in the fleet of the Maritime Rescue and Safety Society (Sasemar), commonly known as Maritime Rescue, will now be able to send real-time data and video images recorded from the aircraft about any emergency to the centers. coordination of the public entity in Madrid, the Canary Islands and the Strait. The aircraft (CN-235) will have this innovative capability thanks to the integration of the GMV command and control with the solutions of the Spanish technology company Satlink, which provides the necessary satellite broadband telecommunications equipment through the Hispasat network.
This project is part of the Comprehensive Rescue Innovation Program Maritime, called iSAR and endowed with 21 million euros, and will significantly increase the versatility and effectiveness of its actions, consolidating Sasemar as an international benchmark in rescue and rescue services, the fight against pollution and maritime safety.

Within the framework of the project, Satlink has been selected by GMV and Schiebel for the development and implementation of satellite telecommunications solutions that improve the flow and exchange of information. With this, it will be possible to increase the speed of evaluating resource needs in critical situations, such as shipwrecks, sightings of canoes, medical assistance, spills, etc. It should be remembered that Sasemar operates in a maritime area of one and a half million square kilometers, three times the national territory.
Likewise, Satlink has installed an alternative solution on one of Sasemar's helicopters that will allow it to carry out in real time all the communication tasks necessary for the operation within iSAR, despite not requiring such a high sending capacity given the tasks. operations of these aircraft.

With this new project, Satlink becomes a comprehensive provider of telecommunications services for all maritime and air units of Maritime Rescue. It is worth remembering that the company was already selected in 2021 to provide satellite communications services to 14 Sasemar vessels (four multipurpose rescue and combat marine pollution vessels and ten tugboats), as it is the only supplier in the market with the technical capacity and flexibility to guarantee critical telecommunications services 24x7 with maximum operational efficiency.
To manage the service to Sasemar, Satlink will have an operations team of specialized technicians who will be responsible for uninterrupted maintenance and monitoring, as well as proactively taking corrective actions when an incident is detected.
With this contract, Satlink continues to strengthen its position as a technological leader in satellite connectivity services for Government units and Public Administrations, whose communications are especially critical and require reliable and robust connectivity technology.
