The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov, the Minister of Fisheries of the Kamchatka Territory Andrei Zdetovetsky, the head of the North-Eastern Territorial Administration of Rosrybolovstvo Yuri Tatarinov, the Chairman of the Fishery Collective Farm named after V.I. Lenin Sergey Tarusov, employees of the enterprise and their families.

“Today is a celebration for our team, another victory. The second vessel is being put into operation, which was built almost with our own hands on the territory of the Kamchatka Territory. It is symbolic that it bears the name “Sokok”. When we raised the first flag on the Apache, there were certain worries related to how the ship would work, how good it would be as a steamship, navigational, and fishing. Today, the first vessel “Apacha” is successfully fishing for pollock in the Sea of Okhotsk. The fishing and navigation qualities of the vessel allow work to be carried out in any weather. I would like to thank the entire team for their work, for their very important contribution to the development of both the enterprise’s economy and the entire Kamchatka Territory,” noted Sergei Tarusov.

At the moment, RK named after. Lenin built 5 ships, including Sokoch, and two factories. As part of the second stage of investment quotas, the company will implement 4 more projects: to build two transport ships and two coastal factories.

In total, based on the results of two stages of the investment quota program of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after. Lenina will build 12 ships, including the super-trawler Viktor Gavrilov. Onshore processing capacity will increase to 4 plants.

For reference:

In August 2023, the first ship in 20 years built at Kamchatka shipyards, the MRS Apache, was launched. It is planned to complete construction of the third and fourth vessels in December 2024, and the fifth and sixth in the first half of 2026. The volume of investment for the construction of six ships will amount to 2.24 billion rubles (USD 25.5 M). The vessels are designed for catching and transporting (in bulk in the cargo hold) the catch in its raw form to an onshore factory for further processing. As part of the first stage of investment quotas, 7 fish processing plants, 3 medium-sized seiner trawlers, and 2 small-tonnage fishing seiners were built in Kamchatka.
