Balfegó has achieved recognition after an initial audit process of its different sustainability policies, and a subsequent evaluation process of new projects launched in this same area, both environmental and social, which has been developed over the last few years. 2 years. Recognition with the B Corp certification is not a one-off nature, but will require the company to undergo a process of constant observation and transformation of its policies based on continuous improvement.

In the field of social sustainability, Balfegó places people at the center of its activity and has implemented various policies to ensure better working conditions for working people, raise their quality of life in aspects such as conciliation or development. professional. Likewise, it has automated the selection processes to eliminate any type of discrimination when filling positions, which are published internally or it has reached agreements with different foundations for the insertion of non-guarded minors or women in vulnerable situations.

Regarding improvements in working conditions, Balfegó contemplates, among other options, flexible remuneration, personal payroll configurations, including, by way of example, childcare costs, transportation, or vehicle rental at the company's expense, or insurance. private doctors. The company is also committed to training in languages, finances or health, as well as the Balfegó W Talent scholarship, intended for women who want to train in haute cuisine, to eliminate the existing gender gap in the sector.

According to Juan Serrano, general director of Balfegó, “belonging to this universe of committed companies, companies that measure, report and continually improve their activity for the benefit of society and the environment, is a satisfaction, but, above all, it is a challenge. For years now we have decidedly committed to incorporating sustainability into the company's strategy and operations - adds Serrano - as a factor of competitiveness and responsibility in the current context and thanks to that effort we have come this far and we are now B Corp. We are aware –Juan Serrano concludes– that we have acquired a commitment that forces us to revalidate day by day the spirit, the enthusiasm and the effort of the entire Balfegó team with this common purpose.”
