In the first quarter of 2024, fishery products imported from Russia fell by 26%

A total of 75,760 tons were imported, 26% less than the 106,934 tons in the same period of 2023.

The amount of imports was 223.31 million dollars, 33% less than the 301.35 million dollars in the same period last year.

The main fish imported from Russia continued to be frozen pollock, with 44,925 tonnes, or 59.3% of total imports, down 14% from 52,375 tonnes the previous year, while imports were 42.9 million dollars, 20% less than the 52.3 million dollars in 2023.

The average import unit price was USD 0.96/kg, 7% less than USD 1.03/kg in the same period of 2023.

Frozen herring, which represented 10.8% of total imports, arrived with 8,169 tons, 35% less than the 12,647 tons of the same period last year, with an average import unit price of $0.91/ kg.

The third is frozen pollock milt, which represented 5.6% of the total, 4,214 tons, a slight decrease compared to 4,197 tons in 2023, and the average import unit price stood at 2.37 USD/kg, 36% less than 3.71 USD/kg. in the same period last year.

In fourth place is frozen yellowfin sole, with 3,121 tons occupying 4.1% of total imports, 4% less than the 3,260 tons in 2023, and the average import unit price was $1.98/ kg, 22% less than the 2.53 dollars/kg of the previous year. 

The fifth is frozen pollock roe, 3,089 tons entered, imports increased by 5% compared to 2023, and the average import unit price was USD 5.43/kg.

In March 2024, Russian seafood products accounted for 62% of the country's total imports of 236,154 tonnes, and the average unit import price was set at $2.67/kg, down 5.2% from the 2 Dollars. 82 dollars/kg compared to the previous year.
