Tuesday, December 10, 2024, 05:10 (GMT + 9)
Bad weather and few remaining quotas have affected fisheries over the past week.
Norwegian Spring-Spawning Herring (NVG Herring):
Due to bad weather and only a few boats still holding quotas, it was a quiet week with minimal activity in the reporting logs. A total of 1,803 tons of Norwegian Spring-Spawning Herring (NVG Herring) was reported for the week.
Coastal Sprat:
79 tons of coastal sprat were reported, with 31 tons caught in the Oslofjord and 48 tons in the Sognefjord.
Horse Mackerel:
64 tons of horse mackerel were caught in the Rogaland and Vestland counties.
Mackerel and North Sea Herring:
The North Sea experienced rough weather this past week, significantly affecting both North Sea herring and mackerel fishing. Only 32 tons of North Sea herring were reported from these fisheries.
The Edge:
One vessel reported catching 360 tons of blue whiting (kolmule) and 150 tons of argentine greater silver smelt (strømsild-Argentina sphyraena).
