These include a sea bream and sea bass farming project by the Aquarital company, with a production capacity of 880 tonnes/year.
The company will start stocking eight floating cages at the beginning of March 2024.

The second project is being carried out by the Aquasparidae company, with a production capacity of 770 tonnes/year, which will in turn start seeding eight floating cages at the beginning of March 2024, according to the Ministry.
All in all, the combined production capacity of the two projects will reach 1,650 tonnes/year, which will "make an effective contribution to supplying Algiers markets with fish", according to the same source, which added that during this visit, the Minister reiterated "the sector's commitment to supporting all operators and project developers in floating cage aquaculture, given its role in guaranteeing national food security".
