Record-Breaking Quarter for Salmon Giant Mowi

Mowi, the global leader in salmon farming, achieved a record slaughter volume of 161,000 tonnes in the third quarter of 2024, as announced in a recent stock exchange filing.
The volume was distributed as follows:
- Norway: 106,000 tonnes
- Scotland: 15,000 tonnes
- Canada: 7,000 tonnes
- Chile: 23,000 tonnes
- Ireland: 3,500 tonnes
- Faroe Islands: 3,000 tonnes
- Iceland (Arctic Fish): 3,500 tonnes
Mowi's Q3 slaughter volume exceeded the company's earlier guidance of 159.5 thousand tonnes gutted weight, surpassing expectations and setting a new quarterly record.
Financial Highlights
Mowi reported an operational EBIT of approximately EUR 173 million (NOK 2,035 million) for Q3 2024, with an exchange rate of EURNOK 11.76. The company's blended farming cost per kilogram was EUR 5.72, a slight improvement from EUR 5.84 in Q2 2024 and similar to Q3 2023's EUR 5.73 per kg.

- Norway: EUR 1.40
- Scotland: EUR 0.85
- Chile: EUR 0.60
- Canada: EUR -0.55 (Canada East: EUR 0.64)
- Ireland: EUR 1.20
- Faroe Islands: EUR 0.60
- Iceland: EUR 0.40
Mowi's Consumer Products division contributed EUR 43 million in operational EBIT, while the Feed division generated an operational EBITDA of EUR 25 million for Q3 2024.
Debt Position
At the end of the quarter, Mowi's reported financial net interest-bearing debt (NIBD) stood at approximately EUR 1,770 million, excluding IFRS 16 effects.
