Fish Catches Surpass Half a Million Tons

Russian fishermen have not slowed down their catch rate since the beginning of the year. By February 6, according to the industry monitoring system of Rosrybolovstvo (TSMS), 516.6 thousand tons were produced - 14% more than last year on the same date.

Positive dynamics are ensured by the fishing industry of the Far Eastern basin and the Azov-Black Sea.
In the Far East, 465 thousand tons were produced, an increase of 24.3%. Pollock and herring salmon are developing successfully in the Bering and Okhotsk Seas.

For pollock, the increase was 16% compared to last year - 322 thousand tons were caught, herring was caught by 69% more (96.4 thousand tons), cod - by 17.5% (15.5 thousand tons).
In the Azov-Black Sea basin, the catch amounted to 6.2 thousand tons - 29% higher than the 2023 level. The idea of anchovy is going well: the increase remained 33% - more than 6 thousand tons were extracted.
Rosrybolovstvo constantly monitors the volume of production and supply of fish products to domestic and foreign markets in order to prioritize providing the country's population with fish products in the required volume.
