PRODUCE: Anchovy Fishing Reaches 77.91% of Quota in Second Season of 2024

The industrial fishing fleet continues to drive economic growth while upholding sustainability standards in Peru's key ports.
The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) has reported that anchovy landings in the north-central region of the country reached 1,955,571 tons between November 1 and December 31, accounting for 77.91% of the quota assigned for the second fishing season of 2024.
This achievement underscores the sustained efforts of the industrial fleet in capturing and processing this vital resource, further solidifying the sector’s role as a cornerstone of Peru’s economic development.

Activity Across Key Fishing Zones and Ports
Currently, 238 vessels are operating in the designated fishing zones off the coasts of La Libertad, Ancash, and Lima. The primary ports for unloading include Chimbote, Malabrigo, Coishco, Callao, Tambo de Mora, Supe, and Chancay.
