The ice fishing trawlers Bergur VE and Vestmannaey VE landed in Vestmannaeyjar. This is reported on the website of Síldarvállúnninn. Both ships had a full cargo, mostly haddock. Each tug also landed about 20 tons in Neskaupstaður on Saturday, and there was a lot of trouble, according to the news.

In it, we talk to Ragnar Waage Pálmason, the captain of the Bergur. "We started the tour at Ingólfshöfði and there was massage fishing. We had to leave there because of the weather and then we headed east. We landed in Neskaupstaður and waited there until the weather improved. Then we went out to Gerpisflak to look for haddock, but the fishing was quiet there.
We headed to the Yellow Carpet and took a hole there and from there to the Berufjörður stream. There was good day fishing, but little to be had during the night. From there we drove to Ingólfshöfður and spent a day there. From Höfðar we went to Meðalandsbugtin and there we had a decent cocktail. We then ended up at Pétursey, where we took one short hole before heading ashore," Ragnari says.
Birgir Þór Sverrisson, captain of Vestmannaey, was asked if Vestmannaey had fished as widely as Bergur. "Yes, we were very similar. We started at Ingólfshöfður, landed in Neskaupstaður and after that we fished at Gerpisflak, Skrúðsgrunn, Berufjarðarál, Breiðamerkurdypi and Meðallandsbugt.
There was a catch here and there, but nowhere was there any significant force in the hunt," says Birgir Þór.
Both Bergur and Vestmannaey went fishing again.
