System of artificial intelligence developed capable of tracking illegal fishing, seafood fraud, and labor abuses on a global scale

The IUU+DB platform analyzes more than a decade of heterogeneous records from 143 countries to automatically map environmental and human crimes in the marine supply chain. An interdisciplinary team of scientists in the United States has developed an innovative technological tool called IUU+DB, the first global incident database driven by large language models (LLMs) designed to automatically track illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, seafood fraud, and labor rights abuses in the global fisheries sector.
