Community negotiations open the door to strategic investments in new and existing vessels to renew the fleet, reduce emissions, and improve safety on board, pending final budget approval BRUSSELS — The Council of the European Union reached a partial negotiating position to establish the support rules for the fishing sector for the period between 2028 and 2034. The proposed framework includes the possibility of funding vessel modernization, opening a key investment scenario for French and international shipowners in energy efficiency, equipment renewal, and maritime safety.
